Best Friends Rescue are a non-profit group dedicated to saving the lives of dogs and cats on the Gold Coast and in Brisbane.
Most of these animals have been rescued from Death Row at council pounds while others have been surrendered by owners who for whatever reason can no longer keep the animal.
Best Friends Rescue offer a Foster program to help home dogs while they are waiting for their perfect and permanent family to come along. All dogs and cats are vet checked, desexed, C5/F4 vaccinated, wormed and are all on heartworm prevention and micro chipped.
To become a foster carer all you need is a loving attitude toward animals and a suitable home to house the pet until they are adopted. Most animals are rehomed within approximately four weeks, however some pets may take a little longer to find the right family.
Best Friends Rescue are responsible for all vet-related costs that are incurred during foster care, all the foster carer needs to provide for the pet is food, water, a comfy place to sleep and of course LOVE.
Fostering is a great way to get to know a pet, so if you fall in love while fostering the adoption process is open to you.
