Tom & Anne Jorgensen

For 45 years Tom Jorgensen worked in construction, but when building beside a veterinary clinic in 2014, he witnessed a confronting scene that saw him put down his tools for good. A lady carrying her pet in a plastic bag. He thought, “Well, can I do this better?'”  After some research into the pet cremation industry, Tom felt inspired to create a family-run business that was compassionate and transparent. That’s when he decided in 2015 with his wife, Anne and two nephews, Wade and Scott and a handful of staff to start Pet Angel.

Wade & Scott Gunnell

Wade and Scott are Tom and Anne’s, nephews. They helped grow Pet Angel into the company it is today.

Wade looks after all of the pets that come to the Gold Coast crematorium. He also manages the Brisbane crematorium. He has two Dachshunds called Peanut and Butter.

Scott is the Managing Director of Pet Angel. He has a beautiful wife and son, and two dogs called Tia and Coco.

Hi I’m Nicole, this is my dog Max! I’m the Admin manager and I’ve been with Pet Angel since 2015. I have been involved in creating many of the systems that we have in place today. I have a diploma in Graphic Design, but I knew when growing up that I always wanted to work in the animal industry, so working at Pet Angel is great as I am able to incorporate my design skills and still be in the animal industry while also helping people during a difficult time. I also love being able to bring Max to work with me every day.

Hi, I’m Craig, I’ve had a diverse career life over the past 25 years.  A key part in my journey was in 2017 when my wife and I founded our business, Limitless K9, a dog training business in NZ. As well as training dogs, we ran a home stay for dogs.  When people went away, their dogs would stay with us, much like kennels, with one key difference.  They lived in the house with us. I also took on a roll at the local SPCA shelter.  In 2020, we moved over to Australia. I now have the privilege of helping people during one of their most difficult times, losing a much beloved pet and family member. It is an honor to be there an support people during this time.

Hi my name is Arlene and this is my furry family member, Kirri.  I have lived on the Gold Coast for over 30 years and I have four grown up children and 3 gorgeous grandchildren.

I have always been an animal lover so working at Pet Angel where everyone is an animal lover and every day is bring your pet to work day is the perfect place for me (and Kirri).

Hi, I’m Dale,  and this is Leo my grand-puppy. My introduction to Pet Angel was unfortunately as a client; After the loss of my beautiful Golden Retriever Bailey and shortly after, my Husky, Koda. I was so deeply grateful for what Pet Angel had done for me and my fur babies. After spending 25 years as a Police Officer, I applied for a job with them in 2018 and have enjoyed working here ever since.

For me, like others at Pet Angel, this is not a job,  it’s a passion.  When I’m asked how I do such a sad job, the answer is simple;  I cry a lot.

“Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened.”

Hi, I’m Yvonne, I’m a proud Kiwi who now calls Australia home.  I’m a qualified NZ Funeral Director who loves making a difference in peoples lives.  I have been married to my best friend for over 20 years and have two gorgeous daughters and a darling granddaughter. In NZ I lived rural and had pet goats, pigs, dogs and cats.

Hi, I’m Pete. I’ve spent a lot of my life helping people as a personal trainer and as a Police Officer. As a Pet Angel, I have the privilege of caring for our furry family members by giving them the dignity and respect they deserve as we say our final farewell. The unconditional love given by our pets inspires me every day. In my spare time, I’ll be at the beach, scuba diving, or just having a coffee.

Hi my name is Peta, this is my Dachshund puppy, Millie. I am a mum to 3 beautiful children that are my life. I have always had a passion for helping people and I adore all animals. Working for Pet Angel is very rewarding, not only do I work with a great team but I also get to help people on a daily basis to grieve and help them deal with the loss of their pet.

Hi I’m Karen, I have lived a third of my life in the UK and Europe, I now call Australia home again. Our fur babies Lucy and OJ bring total joy to our family.  My love of traveling has bought me in contact with many different animals, with elephants and penguins being my wildlife favorites. Working with a group of fellow pet lovers is a joy and I am passionate about delivering exceptional customer service to you and your pet.

Hi I’m Luke, I love animals, especially dogs.  I couldn’t think of a time in my childhood that my German shepherds didn’t put a smile on my face. I grew up with a family that not only trained dogs but also competed in dog trials throughout Brisbane. During that time I have had the joy of sharing my life with a pet, but unfortunately, I’ve also dealt with the loss of a pet. A pet is as much a part of the family as anyone, and I feel that I use my life experience every day at Pet Angel to help comfort those who are saying goodbye to their beloved pets.

Hi, I’m Max! I’m a Corgi x Schipperke. I love coming to the office every day with my favourite human, Nicole. She rescued me when I was 12 years old. I love greeting everyone who comes to our office in Virginia and making them feel a little bit of happiness when they are sad, I think they appreciate my happy smile.
